Presented in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Consulate of New York

Lincoln Center celebrates World Steelpan Day with a concert from the Elite Pan Consortium (EPC), an international collective of the world's finest pannists, composers and champion arrangers, led by percussionist and educator Josanne Francis. The pan is a versatile, egalitarian drum that is virtually synonymous with Trinidad and Tobago, its country of origin. The steelpan, the only fully chromatic acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century, has inspired a particularly vital and active community. EPC presents the cream of that crop, spotlighting 15 savants on the steelpan delivering energetic performances, spirited arrangements and spellbinding virtuosity. Each pannist brings a wealth of knowledge and experience under their wrists and unique skill and dexterity to their playing. Listeners and scholars continue to be amazed by the sheer excellence that these musicians display at every performance... and you will too!

Run time: approximately 2 hours
