The global ambassadors of konpa, Haiti's national dance music, bring their propulsive groove to Josie Robertson Plaza for an exuberant night of dance. Singing in English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole, Tabou Combo is one of the most recognized and enduring Caribbean bands in the world. Their international anthem “New York City” and a catalog of hits have made them cultural icons within the Haitian diaspora and beyond. Tabou Combo’s 12 members share the wide-ranging sounds of the Caribbean. From konpa to rara (Haiti's Carnival music), to méringue, American funk, and West African-style soukous, Tabou Combo's sonic synthesis is bassy, brassy, percussive, and absolutely joy-filled.

Presented in collaboration with Chriss Rimpel of RAD MUZIK.
