The late composer Glenn Branca's Symphony No. 13, aka Hallucination City, premiered in June of 2001 and was one of the last works of art to take place at World Trade Center Plaza. Written in four movements for an orchestra of 100 electric guitar players and intended to be played uninterrupted in just over an hour, the work has become a landmark of avant-garde music, notorious for its maximalism, eccentric tuning, and overwhelming intensity. Branca, a prolifically eclectic creative mind with roots in the no wave rock scene, built a symphony so legendarily iconoclastic that it became synonymous with the furthest extremes of sound. Due to the project's challenging orchestration and significant complexity, Hallucination City has never had a full revival in New York City... until now. Don't miss this one-night-only opportunity, conducted by Reg Bloor, to experience a musical megalith revived in the city of its birth.
