Created by Corrina Bonshek and collaborators, Oktoecho & Bunna Lawrie

Join us for a euphoric music experience with four incredible Indigenous voices from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, supported by a powerhouse ensemble. Their heart-expanding music carries messages of conservation and custodianship. Musically, this show occupies a third space between Indigenous, folk, classical and ambient music, and includes original compositions by Corrina Bonshek, Katia Madisski-Warren, and Bunna Lawrie. Whale songman and Elder of the Mirning people, Bunna Lawrie, is the leader of the multi-award-winning band Coloured Stone, and is a protector of sacred waters in Australia. WHAIA Sonic Weaver, Ngati Kahugnunu woman of Aotearoa New Zealand, is a transcendent vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, water advocate, and board member of Oceanic Global. Lydia Etok and Nina Segalowitz have performed ‘katajjaq’ all over the world, blending this Inuit women’s vocal style with contemporary music. Lydia Etok is from Kangiqsualujjuaq in Nunavik, and Nina Segalowitz is an Inuvialuit/Chipewyan from Fort Smith, Northwest Territories.
