Presented in collaboration with The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts

Since 1983, Vy Higginsen’s musical, Mama, I Want To Sing! has entertained audiences around the world with its joyful celebration of gospel music and the people who make it. The success of the musical led to the creation of Mama Foundation for the Arts, a Harlem-based non-profit organization with a two-decade history of presenting, preserving, and promoting African American arts and inspiring generations of musical leaders. In this storytime aimed at kids 0-6, Mama Foundation offers a sample of this learning experience. Kids will learn songs and practice singing together and individually.

Lincoln Center celebrates summer in New York City as our free Storytime series returns—and this year due to popular demand, we have scheduled a second event every Wednesday! Curated by The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, this Storytime event presents a children's book reading with live musical theater incorporated to keep kids of all ages enraptured and engaged!

Run time: approximately 45 minutes
