Lincoln Center proudly honors the culture, creativity, and craft of our Island neighbors on the occasion of Caribbean American Heritage month with a Caribbean Day takeover, curated in collaboration with special guest Etienne Charles. A renowned, award-winning composer and trumpeter with his San Juan Hill symphony concert commissioned for the reopening of David Geffen Hall in 2022, Charles is also a proud, Trinidad-born native. Join us for a wide selection of programming across campus that starts in the early afternoon and goes all night, including a concert for families and all ages that features steel pan performance; a Caribbean Masquerade mask-making workshop; an afternoon artisan craft marketplace featuring Caribbean American poets, fashion designers, and a pop-up market presenting local Caribbean merchants' clothing, cuisine, and jewelry; and a culminating concert party at Damrosch Park featuring Charles and an array of calypso and soca artists bringing the famed Road March to Lincoln Center!
