Hailing from the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, composer, writer, producer, and lead vocalist/trumpeter for “Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs,” Shamarr Allen has influences in jazz, Hip-Hop, rock, funk, blues, and country. Allen has collaborated with many renowned artists including Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galactic, Harry Connick Jr., and Lenny Kravitz. With a scintillating and unique sound, look, and exemplary talents, Allen’s family-friendly performances transcend musical boundaries. He is the True Orleans experience! Before the show, join us for an interactive, creative Pre-Show Family Workshop led by Lincoln Center Teaching Artists! Open to visitors of all ages and ability levels who are excited and curious to explore art-making inspired by the performance.
