Spectacular Triumphs. Prophetic Downfalls. King David is more than a concert, it’s a gripping night of music and drama that brings one of the Bible’s most legendary figures to life. With full chorus, orchestra, and soloists, this performance follows David’s rise from humble shepherd to powerful king. At the heart of the production is The New York Choral Society, giving voice to Arthur Honegger’s sweeping, poetic music that moves the story from epic battles to intimate moments of joy and loss. This production honors this theatrical spirit with bold staging by Alison Pogorelc and is led by Music Director David Hayes. Soloists include Emma Marhefka (soprano), Cierra Byrd (mezzo soprano), Maximillian Jansen (tenor), and Lee Wilkof (Narrator).
