Presented in collaboration with the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar

Lincoln Center and the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar are proud to present a free outdoor performance of Elliot Cole's Flowerpot Music. Flowerpot Music (MMD Book), composed by Elliot Cole in 2021, is a mesmerizing sonic happening that uses ordinary flowerpots as percussion instruments. Cole describes the piece as “an evolving collection of games, improvisation scores, and sonic meditations,” and it can be realized by seasoned professional percussionists or even by non-musicians with no performance experience at all. This performance will be presented by the talented students of the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar (JSPS), an intensive two-week program that provides young high-school aged percussionists with the opportunity to study with a faculty of today’s most prominent percussion teachers and performers. Flowerpot Music will be coordinated and led by JSPS faculty member and Flowerpot Music Artistic Director, Peter Ferry.
