Beethoven conducted the premiere of the Seventh Symphony on December 8,1813, as part of a charity concert for soldiers wounded at the Battle of Hanau. The first performance was so warmly received that the audience demanded the second movement “Allegretto” be repeated. As the ACO celebrates its 40th Anniversary Season, it stands committed to preserving and promoting the music of the great Baroque and Classical era composers on period instruments. The ACO will also be presenting Mozart’s Andante from Serenade, K. 388, featuring the wind section principal musicians, many of whom have been members of the American Classical Orchestra since its inception. Flute soloist, Sandra Miller, will then perform Mozart’s Andante in C Major for Flute & Orchestra, K. 315.
