Profoundly versatile multimedia artist Maylee Todd curates and hosts an extraordinary series of events titled Women and Nonbinary Artists in Tech from January to May 2024. These groundbreaking performances will illuminate the innovative intersections of music, technology, motion capture, performance, and digital art. The first in the series features a live composition performance by multidisciplinary violinist, singer/songwriter, composer, and author V.C.R, who enchants from beginning to end. Starting with a healing sound bath, V.C.R sets the stage—composing live with her DAW system using violin, viola, vocal, and autoharp in the style of multi-instrumentalist Laraaji. She performs singles from her debut album The Chronicles of a Caterpillar: The Egg, which features fantasy storybook-style song narratives, including “Minnie Lives," “TRiP,’ “Blue,” and jazz classics like “Summertime," inspired by such varied sources as Lord of the Rings, Minnie Ripperton, and Tchaikovsky. V.C.R teaches the repertoire as she invites audiences into the magic of her world of creation!

Digital artwork by Floontz will be on display this evening. To learn more about the Digital Arts Program and featured digital artists, click here.
