The People’s Money: Manhattan Idea Generation Session

The NYC Civic Engagement Commission, Lincoln Center for the Preforming Arts, and the Library for the Performing Arts are partnering to host The People’s Money: Manhattan Idea Generation Session! This event invites Manhattanites to represent their neighborhood in NYC’s first-ever citywide participatory budgeting process by submitting ideas to address community needs. Participate in this live, collaborative idea generation session in the cafe at the Library for the Performing Arts.

Since the Civic Engagement Commission launched The People’s Money on September 12th, 82 partner organizations have hosted over 150 idea generation sessions across the five boroughs, resulting in several hundred ideas being submitted at this early stage of the process. Idea generation sessions are direct opportunities for residents to engage in fun activities, while learning more about the city budget, and the power that their voice can hold to enact real change. After the idea generation session portion of the event, The People’s Bus will be in Benenson Grove hosting cultural, art, and civic engagement activations, while sharing Get Out the Vote resources supported by local food and live music.
