After a year like 2020, we could all use a laughter intervention! NYLaughs, through its signature stand-up series Laughter in the Park and Laughter in the City, has been bringing no-cover comedy sets to New Yorkers since 2007, with a roster of program alumni that includes Amy Schumer, Hannibal Buress, Michael Che, Todd Barry and Michelle Buteau. For nearly 15 years, NYLaughs' outdoor comedy shows in public spaces and parks have enriched lives and let audiences soak up free Vitamin D without a drink minimum. Now, they're bringing the fun indoors to Lincoln Center's Stage at Jaffe Drive for a one-of-a-kind experience that we promise will be less sweaty and awkward than your last hot yoga class. Expect stellar talent and big laughs from the unique cultural asset that is NYC’s stand-up scene!
About NYLaughs
Aspiring “FUN NEWS” organization and long-time pop-up cultural experience producer, NYLaughs, is a critically-acclaimed performing arts non profit run by some kick-ass volunteers that has presented stand up comedy shows that are free to the public in NYC since 2007. Their events are an amusing marriage between NY comedians and local politicians doing stand up comedy in several public spaces around New York City. NYLaughs believes that laughter makes the world a better place by fostering informed, engaged and empathetic communities and has been working to reshape the city’s arts landscape since its founding by presenting events that inspire audiences, enrich NY lives and connect New Yorkers through humor. They are proud to be able to elevate the art form and to strengthen their voice in the arts through this collaboration with Lincoln Center. Not only has NYLaughs' mission long been to recognize the importance of stand-up comedy as a unique NY cultural asset and a community builder, but also in times like these, NYLaughs sees it as also being a source of comfort, resilience, communication and optimism. NYLaughs is the recipient of 2 DCLA and 13 LMCC-NYSCA grants, 4 NYC City Council Discretionary Funding Awards, 4 Washington Square Park Conservancy grants, as well as one from Partnership for Parks.
