Renowned music festival globalFEST joins forces with beloved NYC nightclubs Barbès and Drom in celebration of their milestone anniversaries (respectively 20, 20 and 15 years) for this mega event of musical discovery, featuring powerful artists with unique voices hailing from across the globe. Scheduled performers include: soulful subversive folk-art heroes, DakhaBrakha (Ukraine); Amal Murkus & The Firas Zreik Quintet (Palestine/USA); DC’s premier Go-Go band, Rare Essence (Washington, DC), celebrating its 45th anniversary; psychedelic tropical futurists Combo Chimbita (New York/Colombia); Americana's rising star, Amythyst Kiah (Tennessee); and Ahmad Fanoos and The Heart of Afghanistan Project (Afghanistan/USA), performing ghazals and popular songs. The evening culminates with a late night Global Silent Disco as a celebration of musical freedom and a danceable vision of peace.
