Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center: 30th Anniversary Gala

Originally broadcast on Live From Lincoln Center on October 14, 1998, this gala concert celebrates three decades of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Opera royalty Beverly Sills hosts the evening and piano star André Watts serves as Master of Ceremonies, joining 37 musicians onstage. The panoramic program includes Bach’s “Brandenburg“ Concerto No. 3, Mozart’s Serenade No. 10, Schubert’s “Shepherd On The Rock,“ and an excerpt from Copland’s Appalachian Spring. “In just under two hours,“ The New York Times noted, the Society traversed just over 200 years of music.
