Mitzi E. Newhouse
The Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, which opened to the public in 1967, is one of Lincoln Center Theater’s three performances spaces on campus. Located in the lower level of the Vivian Beaumont Theater building, the space was originally called the Forum before it was renamed for Mrs. Newhouse in 1973. Today, the Newhouse presents a full season of plays and musicals, many of them premieres, by such notable playwrights as Sarah Ruhl, Jon Robin Baitz, and Christopher Durang. The Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater has entrances on Hearst Plaza by the Reflecting Pool and on West 65th Street across from The Juilliard School.
