Jazz at Lincoln Center
With pianist Alex Collins, bassist Buster Williams, drummer Gerry Gibbs, trumpeter Tom Harrell, trombonist Robin Eubanks, and vibraphonist Warren Wolf Percussion wizard Gerry Gibbs has worked with a varied and seemingly endless list of top artists, including McCoy Tyner, Alice and Ravi Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Brad Mehldau, Parliament Funkadelic, Flying Lotus, James Moody, Wynton Marsalis, Mike Stern, Larry Coryell, and Dewey Redman. This will be his debut performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center. For the occasion, he’s bringing an all-star group of instrumentalists, most of whom regularly headline and sell out shows at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola: vibraphonist Warren Wolf, trumpeter Tom Harrell, trombonist Robin Eubanks, bassist Buster Williams, and pianist Alex Collins. Each of them is a celebrated composer, bandleader, and virtuosic improviser, and we can’t think of a more appropriate way for Gibbs to make his Jazz at Lincoln Center debut.
