He’s played with a long list of greats including Woody Herman, Art Farmer, Horace Silver, Stan Kenton, Lee Konitz, and Bill Evans, to name a few. His compositions have been performed by artists like Hank Jones, Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, Ron Carter, and Chris Potter. For this birthday celebration, Harrell brings the quintet he’s led for nearly a decade, a refined and adventurous group that expertly showcases the full diversity of Harrell’s brilliant compositions.
